The Unexpected Benefits of Writing Daily

Most Executives I know avoid writing. NO TIME they say, or I’m NOT a Writer.
But here's what I discovered after committing to writing daily for six months.
Writing every day made me a better and more particular thinker.
When you forge thoughts into words day after day, ideas crystallize. Complexity and problems break down. Why? Because writing forces you to attend to detail and to clarify.
The discipline of writing is really the discipline of deep thinking, and in a world where Execs are paid to pull levers with incomplete information, deep, clear thinking offers massive advantage.
Writing every day is a MASTERCLASS in resilience, in perseverance, and process. If you write every day for a year your leadership and life will change. You'll be better and in ways you don't expect.
You don't have to commit to a year to learn and shift in ways that will serve you and your endeavors well however. Start with 30 days. Every morning for 30 days, write for 10 minutes. Write about the market, about your team, about culture, strategy, your frustrations. Write about something that made you proud or made you laugh or gave you pause this week and see what emerges.
What business challenge are you wrestling right now?
Writing about it may be a big step toward solving it.
